  1. 1.e4 c6 2.Bb5 e6 3. Bxc6 dxc6 is the only one I can find…

  8. That is true. However, the difficult problem is to do it in 4 moves.

  9. Doesn’t 1. e4,e6(/c6) 2. Bc4,c6(/e6) 3. Bxe6,dxe6 also work for 3 moves?

  10. Good job – you found the idea, and that’s the hard part.

    It’s actually more efficient to shift the Rook to b8: 1.a4 Nc6 2.a5 Rb8 3.Ra4 Ra8 4.Rb4 Rb8 5.Rb6 axb6 5.a6 Na5 6.a7 Nc6 7.a8=R Na5 8.Ra7 Ra8 9.Ra6 Nc6 10.Ra1 Nb8

  11. I love these types of problems.

Well, I came up with this solution. There is probably a much more elegant solution. But this is my first try.

    1. a4 Nh6 2.Ra3 Ng8 3.Rb3 Nh6 4.Rb6 axb6 5.Nf3 Ra5 6.Ng1 Rb5 7.a5 Rc5 8.a6 Rb5 9.a7 Rc5 10.a8R Rb5 11.Ra1 Ng8 12.Ra2 Ra5 13.Ra1 Ra8

  12. Nice. I remember when I first solved this puzzle. It is very difficult for most people to get.

See if you can solve this one. From the start position, remove both ‘a’ pawns and add a black pawn on b6. How is this position reached?
