  1. great variation. I know a few people who quit the SM-gambit because of this line. Ive played it for a while and it leads me to a great game as black. youre right now it gives you a chance to outplay your opponent

  2. This is why the f6 push is a vital lever to gain counterplay against White’s central bind.

  3. I don’t like this move order because it is an early commitment on Black’s part to the g7-a1 diagonal which can be easily neutralized by White by establishing a pawn chain on black squares. Black’s fianchettoed Bishop will often find itself somewhat ineffective as it bites on granite throughout the middlegame.
