  1. @renumeratedfrog I have taken positions 2, 3, and 5 from from famous grandmaster games. Positions 1,4 and 6 arised in my own games. The sequence that you mentioned doesn’t work since Qc3+ can be met by pawn to f6 and there is no fork anymore.

  2. @renumeratedfrog Of course, I didn’t notice that the king can simply defend himself with the f6 pawn. :P

  3. @arkbird23 Excellent video as usual!

Interestingly, I found the 2nd puzzle almost instantly, maybe because I’m always searching for knight forks. Maybe if the board was more cluttered, it’d be harder to spot.

I consider the 3rd puzzle to be the hardest, although I was already familiar with it. from Kosteniuk’s video puzzles. I only screwed up on the last one. I naively went for 1. Bxg7 Kxg7 2. Qc3+, and now king has to move off the dark diagonal, and I fork him and the queen with Nf6+.

  4. I have graded each puzzle according to its difficulty level. The total points adds up to 20. You can evaluate yourself with the key below. Good Luck!
    Puzzle1 – 2 points
    Puzzle2 – 6 points
    Puzzle3 – 3 points
    Puzzle4 – 3 points
    Puzzle5 – 2 points
